**Brookside Dog Run**

Any Homeowner who would like to access the Dog Run must submit all paperwork as noted in below in order to complete the registration process.

Use of the Dog Run is a Privilege, Not a Right. We expect all users to be respectful
of others including those in the surrounding areas. Individuals observed to be in
violation of said rules are subject to loss of privilege and revocation of their permit
without refund at the sole discretion of the Brookside Board of Managers. Homeowners use the the dog run at their own risk.

Yearly permits are required and may be purchased at Heritage’s office: 346 Route 202 Somers, NY 10589

Monday – Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
Permit applications are available on line www.brooksidemtkisco.com
Permits are valid from October 1 - September 30
Permits are for the exclusive use of the permittee and may not be transferred from one person to another.
Only dogs on the permit application will be allowed in the Dog Run.
Permit Fees:
Annual Membership October 1 to September 30:

1) $50 for the 1st year includes key, filing fee and 1 dog 2) $25 for 2nd dog
3) $25 per dog every year thereafter
4) Key fee is not refundable

5) Key must be returned when requested
8) Lost key fee: $25
9) We reserve the right to charge a maintenance fee to the members of the dog park

Please provide copies of the following:
● Owner’s Driver’s License or Photo ID
● Dog/s license & tag information
● Proof of Rabies vaccine, DHLPP (distemper) vaccine, Bordetella (Canine cough) vaccine. Any and all

requirements by the Westchester Board of Health ● Completed permit application
● Check payable to Brookside Village

Brookside Dog Run Rules:

The following rules have been established by the Brookside Board of Managers to ensure safe and efficient use of the park. Individuals observed to be in violation of said rules are subject to loss of privilege and revocation of their permit without refund at the sole discretion of the Board of Managers.

LEGAL RESPONSIBILITY Any person bringing a dog into this facility assumes the legal responsibility, jointly and severally, with the owner of the dog, for any damage, disease or injury to persons, other dogs or property, caused by the dog. All persons using the facility, by entering it, agree to indemnify the Brookside Village and hold the Brookside Village harmless for any harm resulting from the use of this facility.

● Dog Run hours - dawn until dusk, daily.

● The Dog Run may be closed at any time due to inclement weather or for maintenance.

● Homeowners must submit and be approved for a permit to enter the run.

● Dogs must be leashed until safely in the fenced area and returned to leash prior to exiting.

● Dog owners must remain in the fenced area while their dogs are in the Dog Run.

● Only 1 dog allowed in the dog run at a time, unless mutual consent of dog owners.

● Owners must be in view of their dogs and have voice control with leash in hand at all times.

Children accompanying dog owners must be strictly supervised.

● No one under the age of sixteen will be allowed to enter the fenced areas without being

accompanied by an adult.

● Homeowners are responsible for their dog and any damage they may cause regardless of who

is walking the dog.

● Puppies and dogs must be properly licensed, inoculated and healthy.

● Dogs MUST wear a collar and ID tags at all times.

● Owners are required to provide tag information and ID upon request.

● Owners must clean up after their dogs and dispose of the waste in the receptacles provided.

Please leave the Dog Run nicer than you found it!

● Dogs must be discouraged from digging - owners must fill in any holes dug by their dog

● Excessive/constant barking: owners must control or remove their dogs.

● This area is NOT a dog walk - accidents happen but do NOT walk your dog in this area

PROHIBITED:

● Dogs that are ill, injured, or in heat, or puppies under 4 months of age ● Guest dogs are not allowed
● Dogs that show aggression towards people
● Any animals other than dogs

● More than two dogs per adult
● Leaving dogs unattended
● Food of any kind, glass containers and smoking in the fenced areas.
● Outside Trainers using the park to conduct business
● NOTE Smaller dogs are allowed in with the larger dogs at the owner’s discretion.
